pre-datv . . .born to ehren and silke volkarin on the 3rd of harvestmere in 8:97 blessed, emmrich is the younger brother of ehren ii and edmund. the volkarin brood dwelt in the slums of nevarra city. ehren, a butcher, and silke, a cook, made ends meet to the best of their abilities. the onset of emmrich's magic surfaced a month after his fifth birthday. the spirit of his late grandmother visited him. emmrich's parents and brothers dismissed his confession, mistaking her for an "imaginary friend." ehren and silke wouldn't live to learn the truth.the volkarin home collapsed a couple of months later. ehren and silke were killed in the accident. the mourn watch took interest in emmrich. watchers present at the funeral sensed his arcane potential. whereas extended family adopted his brothers, emmrich became a ward of the mourn watch. he carved a laudable name for himself in the fields of magic and academia in the coming years.datv. . .professor emmrich volkarin, a senior necromancer from nevarra, has joined the team. he suspects the despair demons in the necropolis were only one sign of mystical disturbances caused by the gods. he is eager to help fight whatever malevolent magic comes next.emmrich discovered that his former friend, johanna hezenkoss, has been tormenting spirits with a dangerous artifact: a mysterious lantern that the venatori had recovered. the team stopped hezenkoss from victimizing more spirits, but now emmrich must learn what sinister plans she has for all the magic she's stolen.emmrich has confessed that his grand ambition is to become a lich: an undead mage who retains their mind and soul after death. the professor won't have a clear enough head to risk the rites of lichdom, however, until he has dealt with his nemesis, johanna hezenkoss.thanks to manfred's sacrifice, the team stopped hezenkoss from unleashing a gigantic undead construct on nevarra city. emmrich has turned his back on lichdom to resurrect manfred, but will need to call on help to return his beloved companion to the living.emmrich is overjoyed that manfred has been successfully resurrected. the senior necromancer has finally realized that manfred has gone from being his assistant to becoming his ward: someone to protect, and guide, into the future.
